Education has been around since the beginning of mankind. However, it is difficult to generalize about the purpose of education. What is the reason behind it? Attitudes towards education differ across time and space. For example, different cultures and societies in different time may have different expectations of education. I’m sure similar aims are in place, but for the most part, the differences are more pronounced. Especially in the current society, we seem to be all about material success, which seems to be the dominant standard for successful education. However, this idea of using money as a measure of success is inadequate. It eliminates the comprehensive purpose of education. There is an urgent need for a non-material understanding of the purpose of education today. The forced inculcation of the concept of material education is a stumbling block to achieving successful education. We must be concerned not only with the success of the individual, but with the well-being of all. Being educated does not mean that we only want to use education as a tool for monetary or material gratification, the purpose of education is even more to make our society a better place where everyone can enjoy themselves, regardless of race, wealth, age, gender, nationality, etc.
