“Theory U” is the book title by Otto Scharmer. “Scharmer with colleagues at MIT conducted 150 interviews with entrepreneurs and innovators in science, business, and society and then extended the basic principles into a theory of learning and management, which he calls Theory U. The principles of Theory U are suggested to help political leaders, civil servants, and managers break through past unproductive patterns of behavior that prevent them from empathizing with their clients’ perspectives and often lock them into ineffective patterns of decision making” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theory_U). Otto Scharmer had a TED Talk, please watch the YouTube video “Theory U – Learning from the future as it emerges | Otto Scharmer | TEDxTUHH”

I think this theory needs to be known by more people. It is of great importance for not only leaders but the average people. This theory actually is reflecting some ancient wisdom and philosophy.

“Theory U” is great theory to help me to think about myself. I like the idea of “letting go”. In so many situations, we have no idea how to let something go and just try to accumulate the “more”. Sometimes, the more the less. We need let go something now and then in order to get more.
