  • About Affirmative Action

Posted by William on 2020-06-11 at 10:44 PM

“Affirmative action originally refers to a set of policies and practices preventing discrimination based on race, creed, color and national origins, now often refers policies positively supporting members of disadvantaged or underrepresented groups that have previously suffered discrimination in areas such as education, employment and housing.” (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Affirmative_action) Even some people may don’t agree this policy but I agree because till now this is the best policy to give the people with the social, economic disadvantages the chance to win. I agree with your disagree. Please share your ideas here and I am ready to listen.

I’ve thought a lot about affirmative action, but it’s hard to find a unified answer. It is a very controversial topic. Any policy that is put in place is going to be controversial, which is a necessary stage of social progress. If there is no such process, it is difficult for society to progress. Because we need controversy. Judging from the results of the implementation so far, I still strongly support this policy.
